01 Programs we run

Industrial OEMs use IPD as their full touch-up operation.

For OEMs shipping a high volume of finished product into harsh environments, a single custom run isn't the answer — a program is. We onboard the facility color spec, formulate and stock the matches, design the custom label per program, and fill cans on demand against the OEM's shipment cadence.

One example we can name: Hunter Buildings. Hunter has engineered blast-resistant modular structures since 1999. Their products go into refineries, petrochemical sites, offshore platforms, defense installations across five continents. Steel shipped into corrosion-aggressive environments gets scuffed, dinged, and scratched — in transit, on install, in service.

We onboarded their color specs, formulate the matches, and every Hunter shipment leaves with Hunter-branded aerosol cans, filled in our Baton Rouge shop. When a Hunter customer calls in year five with a ding, the color matches the original OEM color.

A one-off can is a transaction. A program is a system — stocked formulations, your brand on every label, predictable supply timed to your shipments, an answer for every customer service call about a scuff.

Onboard your color specs once. We hold the formulations. Every reorder pulls from your stocked match — no rematching, no waiting on a color lab.

Custom-designed labels per program. Your wordmark, your color names, your part numbers, your facility codes. The can the customer holds has your name on it — not ours.

Supply that travels with builds.

We ship cans to your yard timed to outbound builds, or direct to the customer site, or to your warranty department for stock. Whatever your logistics need, we move with it.

Match & formulate

Spectrophotometer match against each spec. We formulate in Carbocoat 8215 DTM (or your preferred single-part chemistry) and stock the matched paint in our Baton Rouge shop.

03

Brand & fill

Your label, your part numbers, your wordmark — designed for the program. Cans fill on demand against your shipment schedule. Lot codes and dates printed on every can.

Ship with the build

Cans ship to your yard, your warranty department, or direct to your customer's site — your call. The right cans are with the building before the building arrives.

05 The coating

Real industrial coatings. In a can.

We're a coatings distributor first, packager second. Default formula is Carboline Carbocoat 8215 — a high-solids, quick-dry, direct-to-metal enamel built for OEM finishes and industrial maintenance. The kind of paint your engineering spec sheet actually calls for.

Need a different single-part chemistry to match your facility spec? Single-part enamels, latex, or anything we can source through our distribution lines. We put the spec in the can.

Not every buyer needs a program. Powder coaters, fabricators, contractors, blast-and-paint shops — single orders welcome. Minimum is 24 cans; smaller batches available with a small-batch fee.

Industrial Paint Distributors. A coatings business.

IPD was founded in 2014 by Kevin Dyer in Baton Rouge. For a decade we've supplied industrial coatings and associated materials — Carboline, Huntsman, and most national brands, along with spray foam insulation, all blasting media, and all paint shop and blast shop supplies — to manufacturers and blast-and-paint shops across Texas and Louisiana.

We began selling aerosol products in 2017, and as that side of the business grew we brought filling in-house. Same paint we distribute, now in cans, custom-matched and custom-labeled. What started as a one-off for a Baton Rouge customer has become a program model for industrial OEMs nationwide.

We're still a coatings business. The aerosol line is how our customers get the right paint in their customers' hands.
